It feels good to get back to my blog today, to invite you again into my own little world. I have an aching suspicion that people aren't getting a whole lot of computer time in these days. Perhaps it's the exciting onset of summer--that giddy, festive/patriotic feeling one gets in July. Parks to visit, beaches to play at, barbecues to be had--and simply not enough TIME in the day. So, please forgive me if the action is sadly lacking in this corner of the blogosphere. Maybe when it cools off a bit I'll get back down to business. Maybe.
But back to July. There are positives and negatives, but mostly positives: the smell of firecrackers, burnt BBQ, a REAL suntan, berry pies, swimming pools...
...and some negatives: everywhere spiders crawling out of nowhere, dead spots on the lawn, energy bills (those can be a real humdinger)...
For now I'll just let you in on my positives: a trip to the beach and a yummy 4th of July BBQ.
{As you can see, Finn was quite unsure about the water at this point, despite his name. But soon after, he charged fearlessly right into the sea.}
{Sweet and Crispy 4th of July chicken. My husband is the BBQ master.}
{My shishkabob contribution. Who even knows how to spell shishkabob?}
{Peach cobbler. A July staple. Ask any American.}
